As the Four Fiends moved into the PlayStation era, we got to see plenty of creative interpretations of the original Four Fiends that appeared in Final Fantasy I (Lich, Kraken, Tiamat and Marilith). They appeared in traditional form in Final Fantasy IX, but we also saw other variations in the form of Jenova, Seifer and Seymour!
There was also another type, "Ode To Tradition", which is based around Chinese Astrology. This was first seen in Final Fantasy XI, which featured Genbu, Seiryu, Suzaku and Byakko.
There's also plenty of representation within the spin-off games. Dissidia, Final Fantasy Dimensions, Brave Exvius, Bravely Default an dmore have all featured the Four Fiends!
Join us, as we delve into the intricacies of the Four Fiends trope and how it has been put into play throughout the history of the franchise, starting with Final Fantasy VII through to Final Fantasy XV + Spinoffs!
