Cuphead and Mugman are having an argument about their friendship with Ms. Chalice, as Cuphead has realized that she didn't abandon them on purpose after learning that she returned Edler Kettle's glasses. Suddenly, Ms. Chalice visits Cuphead and Mugman to apologize to them, while the brothers explain that they were in jail (something Ms. Chalice didn't know before), and the three reconcile when they exchange some prison nicknames. After a long day of fun by stealing Elder Kettle's car and going to a dance contest, the trio encounter an angry mob who was chasing Ms. Chalice before. Mugman tries to reason with them, telling them that, despite her scams, Ms. Chalice has made them happy. However, this instead prompts the mob to attack the boys as well, but before they can do so, Ms. Chalice assumes her ghostly form and successfully scares them off. Ms. Chalice tells the boys that she'll be laying low for a while, but promises to see them again soon, causing Cuphead and Mugman to faint in response.
