Selected as the world's most cheese (World Cheese Awards)
The World Cheese Awards, in which the best of the cheese, which is indispensable for breakfast tables in our country, are selected, found their owners. The winning cheese of the competition, in which 4434 kinds of cheese from 42 countries were evaluated, was from Switzerland.
THE WINNER OF THE COMPETITION
Gruyère (gruyere) cheese produced in Switzerland became the favorite flavor of the jury members who are experts in the field of cheese. The cheese named “Le Gruyère AOP surchoix” presented by Swiss cheese producers Vorderfultigen and Guormino was highly praised for its herbs and fruits.
The cheese, which is made from raw cow's milk and known for its melting on the palate, is matured and takes its final form.
Cheese named "Gorgonzola Dolce DOP" took the second place. The cheese produced by the De'Magi family in Italy is described as "blue butter cheese".
ABOUT WORLD CHEESE AWARDS
In the competition held in Newport, Wales, all cheeses are evaluated by blind tasting. Cheese producers, sellers and experts try to choose the best one by tasting thousands of cheeses one by one.
265 jury members from 38 countries then evaluate the cheeses based on their appearance, aroma and aftertaste.
This year, 42 countries participated in the competition, which was originally expected to take place in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine.
