The Curse of Tristram (Diablo2 mod fans Remake) Final release video
With the (upcoming) Diablo2: Resurrected announcement in a couple of days by Blizzard, we decided to polish and release an (unfinished) version of The Curse of Tristram (public) on Battlenet this weekend (12 February 2021). This version is definitive and final and includes everything we made so far. It was an incredible adventure and we're decided to move on and become officially (indie devs) by learning Unreal Engine (4)(5) with all the experience acquired from this awesome project. I would like to thanks everyone who supported us in the making of this, including the support of Blizzard Entertainment devs (and Ex-Blizzard devs). This (mod) is a love letter to Diablo2, a true masterpiece, and we are super proud of what we've done with the tools we had.
Q/A-
Why are you stopping the development of The Curse of Tristram?
1- Because Blizzard is about to announce a (real) Diablo2 Remastered (or remake) Diablo2: Ressurected (still have to be confirmed).
2- Because it becomes pretty hard to work with the Starcraft2 Engine (that become slower and slower due to a large amount of line of codes and contents we using for this mod)
How complete is the mod?
This is a full (remastered/remake) of Diablo2 Act1 in a recent 3D engine that included Normal - NIghtmare - Hell difficulties, with tons of new features as well (see patch notes).
How to play?
You can play The Curse of Tristram for (Free) on Battle.net Starcraft2 Arcade (12 February 2021) by simply download Starcraft2 (for free) and found The Curse of Tristram in the custom game section (also call Arcade). You can play alone or with friends (4xMax).
Is it worth it?
Hell yes! There is so much stuff you and do into that mod. It's extremely challenging, tons of new features, tons of items to farms (new items as well), new economies, completed secured environment using encrypted bank files, and much much more. We also have weekly events using real-time battle.net servers.
Are you planning to add more content in the future?
Like I said in the introduction, we are moving to the Unreal Engine project, but we will continue to support it on the side, with bugfixes on a regular based and maybe more depending on how it turns.
