This is one of Rare's most loved games, but it was at first going to have completely different characters! The bird and bear were originally going to be a boy and his dog, but Rareware changed them before publishing this game for the Nintendo 64. Also, Nintendo's decision to change the N64 hardware meant that a key feature of Banjo Tooie was cut, called "Stop 'n' Swop"! This feature was partially re-introduced in the re-release for Microsoft's Xbox 360.
