In the year 2563, three centuries have passed since the devastating conflict known as "The Fall." In this post-war era, the enigmatic scientist Dr. Dyson Ido stumbles upon a fragment of a female cyborg amidst a desolate junkyard. Intrigued, he transports the discovery to his laboratory for further examination. To his astonishment, he discovers that the cyborg possesses an intact but amnesiac human brain. Driven by his late daughter's memory, Dr. Ido christens the cyborg with her name, Alita.
As Alita ventures through the streets, she encounters Chiren, Dr. Ido's former spouse, who works as a scientist for the powerful entity known as Zapan. Alita also befriends a young man named Hugo, who scavenges cyborg parts and shares a common dream with Alita—to ascend to the floating city of Zalem. Under Hugo's guidance, Alita learns to play the exhilarating sport of Motorball, discovering that the champion of the Motorball Tournament earns passage to Zalem.
In the midst of her journey, Alita unravels the truth about Dr. Ido, discovering his dual role as a hunter-warrior. When she stumbles upon her own cyborg body in a crashed spaceship, Alita resolves to become a hunter-warrior herself. However, Dr. Ido hesitates to replace her existing body. As the story unfolds, Alita's true identity and the secret surrounding her discovered cyborg body gradually come to light. Let us delve further into the tale to witness the unfolding events.
