In this episode Mario is back in Jolly Roger Bay, and Jolly is an understatement here. First, Mario decides to try his hand at obtaining the Pirate King's treasure, where he passes the Pirate King's puzzle perfectly. After this, Mario goes in his Bob-omb buddy's cannon to blast to the stone pillar. This brings Mario's Power Star count over the threshold to open the mysterious door in the castle's foyer (foy-eh), but he isn't done yet. Jolly Roger Bay is Mario's oyster, and he has to get the 8 red pearls inside of it. Some were inside clams, some were on a ship, and one was on the top of a tall rock. After aquiring all 8 red coins, Mario decides to go through the mysterious door with a big star on it. After crossing the threshold, he sees a painting of Toadstool, so he runs towards it. Unfortunately it was bait for a booby trap and Mario finds himself in the Dark World. Mario traverses through the Dark World and dispatches the Kruel King of the Koopas by grabbing him by the tail and spinning him around like he owes him money. Mario gains a mysterious key. Where does it go? Will it grant him any advantages in his quest for cake? Find out in Episode 4!
