The shooter action in The Darkness 2 is more frantic than anything I've seen in an FPS for quite some time (including a game like Serious Sam 3), and the developers keep the player on his or her toes by switching abruptly between demonic mayhem and some rather emotional cutscenes.

I really like what little I've played of TD2 so far, but it's worth pointing out that the FOV is so restrictive that even I can get a little annoyed by it (and field of view is something I normally never even so much as notice unless it beats me over the head with a sledgehammer). There's hope, though, as the publisher has apparently acknowledged the existence of PC gamers and normal monitors (i.e. there a patch coming).
