Our march towards replacing all of our '32u4 and samd21 based feathers continues apace with some proto PCBs that arrived. Remember last week we got and tested both the DVI and RFM radio feathers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4DwelANTGs) well this week we received our E-Ink and USB Host Feathers! we're excited to test out the USB Host Feather as it can do a lot of projects that are really hard on microcontrollers: connecting to HID devices like mice & keyboards, read and write mass storage, as well as some more arcane designs like HID re-mapping. One project we'll be looking at is creating an HID remapper for the USB Intellikeys adaptive technology keypad (http://atmakers.org/intellikeys/intellikeys-drivers-download/) which uses a Cypress EZ-USB chip that downloads its own firmware on enumeration. we've picked one up to try and port existing gdsports' code to TinyUSB! (https://github.com/gdsports/IntelliKeys_uhls) the intellikeys is really neat in how it changes keymaps!

The Great Search - LoRa 915MHz ISM band antenna
https://www.digikey.com/short/0d3rhz0f

on last week's The Great Search we wanted to find a way to connect a whip-style antenna to our 915 MHz ISM Band Feather boards with either RFM69 or LoRa modules. we started by finding uFL to SMA adapter cables, with great success. now we get onto the antenna part! to do range testing lets get some nice big 915 MHz antennas with SMA connectors and with tiltable angle so that we can send and receive data from miles away! Digi-Key stocks thousands of antennas, but we can narrow down our search to one that fits our requirements, while also learning about gain and vswr ratings.
