The Digital Life Experiment - String Theory and Minecraft
The Digital Life Experiment is a hypothetical experiment, whose purpose is to compare our observations about reality with observations that a digitally evolved intelligence would form about their own reality.
Like Schrödinger's cat, the experiment doesn't actually need to be carried out in order to be effective. Its goal is simply imagine the implications of living in a digital universe, and what that would mean for us.
