The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall speedrun, buffer jumping
Buffer jumping:
Uses a screen that pauses gameplay (either by viewing the map, transport menu, or the brief delay after fast traveling and changing maps), which will buffer a jump that launches player forward at super speed.
How to execute buffer jumping
If exterior:
View automap, or transport menu if available, then press and hold FORWARD KEY, RUN KEY, and JUMP KEY all together. Keep these three keys held the entire duration of the jump. Press ESC KEY—not the red exit button—to exit menu so as to not affect the cursor: the cursor’s placement determines the direction of the jump.
If interior:
Same steps as exterior, though the automap must be used as the menu for buffering as the other menus are disabled indoors.
