The ENDLESS Paradox DLC Model - FAIR DEAL or ROUGH RIDE?
With many more Paradox Interactive games on the way, like Cities Skylines 2, I'm Drawing on Age of Wonders 4 (Dragon Dawn & the Expansion Pass) as well as Victoria 3 (Voice of the People & the Expansion Pass), today I'm tackling a big and likely controversial topic - is Paradox Interactive's DLC model fair? We'll also look across Paradox's broader development or publishing library to Hearts of Iron 4 and others, as well as other strategy games like Civ 5 and Civilization 6. Ultimately, I'll consider whether Paradox's DLC system is fair considering viewpoints from the producers, consumers, and others. We'll talk about what makes a DLC 'worth it' (I argue quantity, quality, price and necessity drive value). So is the famous, infamous, controversial Paradox DLC model fair? How should it handle the 'free update problem', should it all have just been free updates and/or there from the beginning? The ENDLESS Paradox DLC Model - Fair Deal, or Rough Ride? Let's talk! #gaming #paradox #strategy
