My character is Faendryl, here is his story -

Faenlyn was born in his family home in Wolfwater, he was the eldest sister to 8 siblings, born to both his loving, stable parents Aime (mother) and Cyran (father). They lived a comfortable, near-wealthy lifestyle as each parent owned their own property as well as renting properties to other locals they were close to. Faenlyn was taught a rudimentary education at home, followed by apprenticing under a family friend Volodar who was a highly regarded member in a craft guild named Twin Hawks. Volodar was a master of many artisinal skills, the guild having no competitors in Wolfwater or Bellmore due to the quality of their work.

On Faenlyn's first contract he was trusted with alone he met Walayn Fiddlesticks, a Halfling criminal with a rogueish demeanor and a dark past. He is alive and well in Wolfwater. Faenlyn did multiple contracts for him where he wanted his home enhanced to have secret entrances, secret compartments, unbreakable windows and locks, support beams in the roof that could hold his weight and more. It was clear the man was paranoid but because of this paranoia he became a loyal and well-paying customer to Faenlyn. (Ally: Walayn Fiddlesticks is neutral evil Rogue.)

Faenlyn continued to work for several decades, sharpening his skills with each contract as well as padding his coinpurse greatly. A lot of travel was involved as demand for workers from Twin Hawks extended miles. He even found a few interesting lost oddities in the places no-one but a roofer can look. One day, an Elf named Leodor hired Faenlyn to construct a shed to house his cows in Bellmore. Leodor had spent a majority of his life behind bars for an assortment of rogueish crimes, which he had claimed to have left in the past in favour of retiring a farmer. Faenlyn miscalculated in his construction and the shed collapsed to strong winds a week after he finished - killing a prized cow named Cowella Devil. Faenlyn had never made a mistake like this in all his years, and he did his best to make right this wrong in fear that Leodor may come out of retirement to seek vengeance. Faenlyn refunded him entirely, built him three new sheds out of pocket and they shook hands. (Enemy: Leodor is a lawful good Rogue.)
His middle sister Rynala gifted him an elegant axe in case the feud was not as settled as he believed it to be.

A half-elf named Dondan convinced the local miner's union he was a member of to dig deeper into the unexplored caverns in the mines of Wolfwater. They needed an experienced craftsman to build supports so that the tunnels did not collapse. Faenlyn scouted ahead of the digging expedition but found himself caved in and trapped. He was rescued after receiving major wounds from the collapse and it was a miracle he was still alive. Work has been discontinued until further notice as nobody else wishes to scout the mines. Dondan looked after Faenlyn whilst he recovered, paying for the best medical treatment available and even offering him his salary despite the job not being completed. (Ally: Dondan is a neutral good Fighter.)

After continuing his work for years, eventually catching the eye of the Wizard of Wolfwater. He knew he'd truly made it at this point, a Wizard, a man of magic, wanted him? He worked for the wizard to fix his roof on his high tower, as few others had shown the same climbing prowess Faenlyn found natural.

Having earned his place among the better artisans of the guild his pay continued to flow, so much so that Faenlyn didn't even know what to do with this money. He donated to local shrines (perhaps the gods would be less absent if everyone did?), charities and even sponsored a small handful of individuals in exceptionally traumatic circumstances. One individual, Eralie, a halfling girl who's father was a madman cultist and who's mother murderer said father caught his attention the most. He couldn't fathom how hard it must be for someone to have such a circumstance, especially in childhood so he took partial custody of her. He escorted her to her Ghostwise tribe in the woods for a few weeks, then picked her up and she stayed with him for a few weeks.
