The Fall of Doctor Coyle - An ARMS Inspired Instrumental
3I'm sorry for not getting this out sooner. Or, you're welcome for keeping this from insulting your ears....
It's taken well over a month to make this, and even up to the last stretch, I kept going back and making changes. So consider it a 'work in progress' but more so as an indicator of where I want to go with music.
It draws inspiration from ARMS - the main theme and elements of Doctor Coyle's own theme, and also The Protomen. I like their drum tones in Act 1, with all the distortion and roughness, but I need to take crash course in mixing drums with effects before I do something like this again.
Where was I....
I really like these sorts of obsessive characters. Like Lusamine's fascination for the Ultra Beasts, I like that Doctor Coyle has an obsession with ARMS, and goes to such lengths to try and accomplish her goals. A lot of things in ARMS are the result of her ambitions - she created Helix and Hedlock and Robo-Spring Man. That sort of impact isn't just a minor detail, and does a lot to endear me to this mad scientist (in a continuation of a growing trend).
I really love this game. I'm going to keep saying that, because I really do, and I'm hungry for more.
I don't have anything ready for the next video, but I don't think it'll be as convoluted as this track is. Given Kirby: Star Allies comes out on the Friday, maybe I'll do something Kirby-themed.
