What do you want out of YouTube? This is not an expose of MrBeast, but rather an attempt to analyze clickbait ephemera and add some humanity to the creator and the creative process. In this video, I won't be making any claims or accusations that are not general knowledge, but I will address some important and niche ideas behind the philosophy of making videos, ideas that no doubt Jimmy has considered throughout his career.

I will share my perspective on some individual creators and offer some analysis on types of content creation that have led people like Jerry Seinfeld to label the internet a "giant garbage dump." We can no longer value analytics and ad revenue to the same degree that we value fun and honesty in our videos. YouTube has to be about something more.

I use clips from director Francis Ford Coppola to provide insight on the inevitability of YouTube as the user-generated platform for independent filmmaking, and I explore the philosophy behind creative content vs. clickbait for algorithms (which is possible to be two things in the same, but scarcely the case). The ultimate question I have for content creators and content consumers is: what kind of content do you want to make and watch on the internet?
