THE FINAL FUNGI - Mario Wonder Playthrough Episode 16
In today’s very special episode of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, I dedicate my gameplay to my best friend’s son and somehow that makes me do better. Go figure.
That’s right, today’s episode is dedicated to that Princess Peach loving crazy kiddo. That little guy is hilarious and also already better at the game than I am and he’s five. It’s humbling, but at least I was mentally prepared for the humbling beforehand. I was also informed during this playdate that Princess Peach is his current favorite, which is why she is our star for the day.
And boy, does Peach pull her weight in this episode! It was today’s mission to finish up the Fungi Mines and save the little Poplin miners who are stuck deep in the ground. This means that it’s up to Peach to tackle the hardest levels of this world and she does so with aplomb. I realize that this sounds like I’m complimenting myself, but I have to believe it was more Peach’s doing than it was mine.
This episode had some of the most fun levels I think I’ve done so far, and that bar was already very high. We tackled a sliding level, where slipping and sliding are the name of the game. First it was standing on top of sliding blocks with pacifiers, then it moved on to a very slippy Wonder Effect. While the slidy blocks were annoying because they were also spiky blocks, the slippy Wonder Effect was a blast and I want to do it again.
Then we did a KO Arena that took me two attempts because I never pay close enough attention to my enemies when I’m already in my Little Peach form.
Then we move on to the final challenge of the Fungi Mines before rescuing the lost lil guys. This level was another that was more annoying at first and then got more fun near the end. The first half involved racing a rising pool of toxic goo, and we all know how I feel about racing. But the second half involved a Wonder Effect that made me turn into a squishy. It was fun and hilarious last time, and it’s fun and hilarious again.
Upon finishing this level and rescuing the miners, the real final challenge of the world remains: the Special World Level. This level was all about strategically falling and avoiding a plethora of enemies and obstacles. It was incredibly challenging, but at the same time, surprisingly fun, considering how hard it actually was.
So if you like slime, lost babies, and/or falling for a super long time, then this episode of my Super Mario Bros. Wonder playthrough episode is for you!
