The First Funky Fighter - Whack-A-Mole Themed Arcade Game!
25A digital Whack-A-Mole themed arcade game published by Taito in 1993. The First Funky Fighter is quite a bizarre game, where players slash away at sharks and crocodiles. You battle end bosses with hand to hand combat, even ripping the shark bosses in half after defeating them.
The game's theme is quite strange. The game's lead protagonist Randy is on a mission to save is girlfriend who's been kidnapped by evil sharks and crocs! Randy looks like something out of Konami's Contra.
In the arcades, the game was originally setup as a 2 player cabinet, with two sets of nine buttons that players would smash to attack enemies on the screen. This was a fairly challenging game in the arcades because the buttons were often far enough apart it made smashing the right ones at the right time a difficult process.
