A bit more show and tell for the benefit of new players. After you have fought and won a few rounds, successfully defending the Beacon, there is an option to level up the Beacon. Each time you level up the Beacon the contest becomes a bit harder and your territory gets larger. That is assuming another player has not built too close to your base of operations (Fort). It is also possible to repeat any of the challenges already played and adjust the difficulty. Mainly that means how long the fight will last, assuming you can successfully defend the Beacon for the full duration of the attack.
