[The Game Of The Dead]: The Kyonshi Panic (PS2)
Jiang-Shi / Kyon-Shi / Oriental (Chinese) Vampire / Hopping Corpse makes less appearance in mainstream video game platforms, neither in any zombie, vampire, or other horror game genres to be exact. The only Jiang-Shi character that comes into my mind is Lei-Lei from a Capcom fighting game series - Darkstalker.
But I do realize that Jiang-Shi does appear in video games developed in Asia region, which are mostly available either on PC, or mobile phone (correct me if I'm wrong).
The Kyonshi Panic (Japan) or Zombie Attack (Europe) is a surprise find for me. It was released in Playstation 2 in Japan in 2004 under the "Simple 2000 Series", and also 2006 released in Europe. Developed by Tamsoft, published by D3Publisher (Japan), and 505 Games (Europe).
It is an action hack and slash game, you play as a Jiang-Shi hunter using sword, gun, glutinous rice (feared by Jiang-Shi), and paper charm (with magical power. Each weapon has a charged-attack to do more damage.
You jump into mission to rescue survivors, escort and protect them from Jiang-Shi attacks, fight a boss, then escape with the survivors to score. You can level up your weapons by utilizing them.
I played the first two stages, the battle is fine, very repetitive, going through rooms and hallways. the first boss was merely a same looking Jiang-Shi in red, with more health; the second boss was a floating kid Jiang-Shi with teleportation power. Maybe I will carry on a few more stages to see what is what next time.
