Zombie Ate My Neighbors is a run and gun action game, the protagonists - Zeke and Julie have to rescue survivors in the neighborhood before the zombies get to them, once you have rescued them all, a portal door will open to complete the stage.

The game is two players local co-op, starting off with Uzi water gun (killing zombies with a water gun...hhmmm), then come with other projectile weapons like bazooka, tomatoes, explosive soda cans, and more; as well as items like health packs, boosters, etc. There are more enemy kinds as well other just zombie, such as warewolves, mummy, and other monsters.

Zombie Ate My Neighbors is considered an iconic zombie game during the 16 bit console era, it also spawned a sequel - Ghoul Patrol, released in 1994.
