4The Garfield Movie is a 2024 animated comedy film based on the comic strip Garfield created by Jim Davis. Directed by Mark Dindal from a screenplay by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds, the film stars Chris Pratt as the voice of the titular character, alongside the voices of Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, and Snoop Dogg. In the film, Garfield is reunited with his long-lost father, a street cat named Vic, before being forced into joining him on a high-stakes adventure.
A massive fan of animated films? Check. Got the knowledge to know who Garfield is? Check. Love watching some chaotic fun with lots of charm? Check. The Garfield Movie isn't everyone's cup of tea. But I actually quite enjoyed this one. I know I really shouldn't have as it could've been so much worse, but it's a good film despite its competition soaring far above it.
The Garfield Movie is a decent ride. Some like it. Some hate it. But for those that really like this film like I did, then you'll want to have a look at my movie review for The Garfield Movie as I also do hate Mondays.
