The Halo TV Series: Will It Be Good?
12The Halo TV Series debuts on Paramount Plus on March 24th, and this series has left us with more questions than answers. After a review of the initial trailer our primary thought is will this series be good? In this video, our gaming nerd, @RussTheCEO shares his thoughts and does his best to answer this question and help you decide if the Halo TV series is worth watching.
For those that are not familiar with the story of Halo, I'll briefly explain. Halo is a sci-fi action gaming series exclusive to Xbox. In this series, humans under the UNSC fight a combined group of aliens called the Covenant. The story is much more than just simple combat. The story has huge overarching lore, and many interesting and entertaining characters.
In the Halo video games, you primarily play as Master Chief, a spartan that has quite a reputation for completing his missions without fail. Even though he is the game's main protagonist, the player primarily views the expansive world of Halo through the eyes of Master Chief. Halo rings in the actual game or superweapons that are scattered throughout the galaxy. Firing one of the Halo rings can have severe consequences for the entire Universe. During your time as Master Chief, you'll uncover the secrets of the rings all whilst working to stop the enemy's plans.
The Halo series promises to tell its own story that is completely independent of the games. This may be both a good and bad thing which Russell talks about in this video. Overall the series should be fun to watch as long as the story is handled properly. The sci-fi elements should be awesome to watch since this series is produced by a much more involved Steven Spielberg. Spielberg is known for his great storytelling and dynamic world-building. So a franchise like Halo is right up his alley.
