After more than 30 years of casual play I learned how to get this extra life on level 8-1. I discovered it one or two years ago during an investigation for the "Max lives route" (video link below) but it took me many tries to get and it's still hard to be consistent. Then I forgot to publish this video so here it is - somewhat delayed.

It's hard to grade all different extra lives, but based on all the ones from my investigation this was the one that took most tries!

SMB PAL version played on emulator on PC using the software "Mesen".
