I made this a while back just because I felt like it. I'm not being asked to contribute music for a Doom II 32X port, and honestly, I don't feel that such a thing would be possible. Doom II is WAY too crazy for the 32X.
Also, I gotta be honest, I'm not actually a huge fan of Doom II's soundtrack. It kinda highlights Bobby Prince's major weaknesses, which are his overuse of the 12-bar blues structure, his tendency to build songs out of one repeating riff and almost nothing else, and his habit of padding the tracks to hell. I swear, there are so many tracks in this soundtrack that exceed 5 minutes before looping back to the beginning because Prince just decided to keep layering and changing instruments at every loop.
That said, though, I don't hate Doom II's music overall. I do think enough tracks manage to break away from that pattern that it doesn't become a complete wash, and this is one of them, as a matter of fact. But I'd be hard-pressed to cover this entire soundtrack without my attention span fading. Doom 1 KINDA had these problems already, but Doom 2 is just ridiculous with it.
