The House of Da Vinci 2 is another escape room style puzzle game. It starts as a prequel, and then continues from where the first game’s story ended.

If you’ve played any similar games before you’ll know what to expect from the puzzles. There’s a mixture of solving codes involving letters, numbers, or symbols, and searching for hidden items which can be plugged into objects around the room, allowing you to unlock a door, or twist a piece of machinery into place so that it can function. You also have a special device in your inventory which lets you travel a few years into the past to pick up an item, or move an object that was blocking your path, so that you can progress in the present. An improvement from the first game is that the mouse pointer will change shape to indicate if an object is interactable, which removes the need to randomly click every object just in case. I’m not sure if it always works properly though. There were three occasions where I was so completely stuck that I finally had to give up and make use of the hints system. The first two times I’d spent ages searching all around those rooms for something to interact with, and it turns out I’d missed small levers that I’m sure the mouse pointer didn’t initially tell me were interactable. The third time was definitely my fault because I didn’t try something that should have been obvious, but I think by then I was frustrated and just wanted to finish the game. A few of the puzzles weren’t really satisfying to solve, because they involve pictures or symbols that don’t have any context. Sometimes you have to arrange them so that the symbols which are placed next to each other are the same, which is easy to understand. But I’ll admit that I “solved” multiple puzzles by methodically trying every possible combination one at a time until something activated, and afterwards I still didn’t understand why that specific combination was correct. House of Da Vinci 2 isn’t a bad game, but I didn’t enjoy playing it as much as the first HoDV, or the four Room games, so I would recommend waiting for a sale.

Hope you will enjoy ❤️
