Get ready for a thrilling adventure as you meet Nearly Headless Nick, a ghost who knows about a mysterious book with missing pages. You will receive an Owl Post letter from Nellie Oggspire inviting you to meet Nick just outside the Great Hall by the House Point Hourglasses. Once you meet Nick, he will inform you that he has information about the book, but first, you need to find some rotten roast beef for him in the House Elf kitchens.

To access the kitchens, you need to tickle the pear in a nearby painting, which will open a secret door. In the kitchens, you'll find the rotten meat in an alcove and with the help of House Elf Feenky, you can take it to Nick. Nick will then instruct you to give the meat to Sir Patrick Delaney-Podmore, who will introduce you to the headless ghost of Jackdaw. To speak to Jackdaw, you'll need to participate in the Headless Hunt and find his head amongst the pumpkins outside the cemetery 5 times.

You can smash the pumpkins with your Basic Cast and keep track of Jackdaw's ghost as it floats away. Once you find him 5 times, Jackdaw will reveal that he stole the missing pages from Peeves a long time ago and the best place to start tracking them down is just outside the Forbidden Forest. The quest concludes as you agree to meet Jackdaw at the Forbidden Forest and continue your search for the missing pages.
