This song, along with certain fan arts and aspects of this form in the movie, inspired me to make this video.
What are the implications of this new powerful form Gohan has achieved in the movie? What is the meaning behind this transformation? What does it do to Gohan while undergoing Beast? Why is it called Beast in the first place? These questions are very interesting cause unlike some forms in the past, Beast is unique and a bit odd. It’s definitely random but significant for our young hero. Does this form change Gohan in any way? While I don’t have the answers and Toryiama himself hasn’t really given any more clearance on the matter, I do have a theory.

*The Achievement of the Form* I believe Gohan attained this massive unique form by the combination of his unbridled rage for the loss of Piccolo and the desire to avenge his death at all cost. Unlike Super Saiyan and Potential Unleashed, Beast is the manifestation of Gohan’s inner anger and innate primal instincts from his Saiyan blood cells that he’s mixed with that allows a Saiyan to gain a tremendous amount of power boost from waking their inner beast. (Hence why It’s called Beast) This combination is what allowed Gohan to ascend to a power that a Saiyan normally wouldn’t and with the restriction of not having his tail while breaking this barrier plus the mixture of his half human cells he possesses. In other words a full blooded Saiyan would never be able to achieve this unique form because they don’t meet these uniquely specific conditions.

*The Power and Strength* honestly I couldn’t tell you exactly how powerful Beast is for Gohan. After all we didn’t get to see it too much in action against Cell Max. However, we can make a rough educated estimate by going off what Toryiama has stated. According to Toryiama, since DBS: Super Hero is a time jump from the Broly movie, Gohan is stated to be the current strongest fighter right next to Goku and Vegeta! So at this moment with the help of his newly achieved form, Gohan is even stronger than Goku and Vegeta! That should give a rough idea of just how powerful this Beast form is on Gohan. Now in terms of how long Gohan will keep the lead of strongest fighters is anybody’s guess. Although I suspect it won’t last too long unfortunately (sorry Gohan fans, I’m one too 😭) so I believe Gohan can easily match up with Vegeta in Ultra Ego and Goku in Ultra Instinct. I’d say Beast is just slightly more powerful than UE and UI. What about Black Frieza? Hmm, that’s an excellent question. Much like Beast, we really don’t know much about this new powerful form Frieza got. Other than that he was able to defeat both Vegeta and Goku in one single deadly blow in their strongest form! So I’d say with Beast Gohan it’d prove to be a tough fight for Gohan against Black Frieza.

*The Implications and Meaning behind Beast* this is probably the most interesting part about Beast Gohan in my opinion. Im very curious as to what this power means and what it will do to Gohan going forward. Basing off from the little we can witness and gather from what we see in the movie, I’d argue that Gohan doesn’t have full control of it. I believe that it’s the opposite effect of Ultra Instinct for Goku than Beast for Gohan. Where Goku can’t fully maintain and properly control UI at first but can improve and adapt as time goes on, I feel like with Beast it’s the exact opposite. At the beginning Gohan has no problem maintaining and even utilizing Beast, but as time goes on-if Gohan isn’t careful-it can overwhelm him. And if he lets the unbridled rage that fuels the form go unchecked, he could even be consumed by it! Altering his very emotions and overall mindset during battle. Which is also why I think his voice changes while in this transformation. I think that’s a Lowkey clue that’s given to us with what I’m talking about, I kinda feel like that reinforces my point.
