This boss fight is where I've seen a lot of players struggle or take far longer than needed to beat it and point to it as the worst boss in the game. Honestly? It's really not that bad in my opinion. Is it somewhat challenging? Yes. Is there no checkpoints between phases? Also yes, but I don't think this boss is that hard. Just remember that if you die in a later phase, you'll have to restart the boss fight from scratch.

Here are a couple tips for making your experience with the Omnidroid better:
-Do a full combo on its leg, while it’s recovering from its recoil animation simply jump attack any of its legs a few times and it’ll jump away once it recovers (if you don’t do this, it’ll retaliate with two claw strikes that it telegraphs by raising its claws, which you can dodge roll).
-You can also exploit the AI of the Omnidroid by running underneath it to let it attack with a claw stab, which you can then avoid easily as the camera from my experience focuses on the claw that attacks and there's a sound cue letting you know it's coming, then proceed to do another four-hit combo on a leg.
-For general game use, players can dodge roll and jump out of it at the end of the animation in order to cover ground faster, also useful for dodging the Omnidroid's spin attack or for getting to its bottom head faster when its head pops out the bottom to shoot lasers.
-When the Omnidroid jumps to the far platforms at a third of its HP bar it starts chucking boulders, if you didn't pick up a rock beforehand don't stop to pick any up until it stops throwing them, With each phase the Omnidroid will chuck more rocks at you, I find generally that you can't hit it with a rock when it's chucking them at your face so when it's chucking them and you're holding a rock I find it simple to walk left or right while moving forward depending on where the boulder is going to land, then chuck a rock at its head when you're close enough for the targeting reticle to appear.
Exclusive to this boss, Mr. I’s high jump can reach the robot’s visor and deal damage.
If you are in need of some health, don't sweat it, smashing some debris will more likely than not spawn in a health pick-up.
Utilizing all these tricks, and you should be able to beat this boss in about 5 minutes or less.
