"It was going to be a 3D game with deformable terrain, which meant that you could toss cars into buildings and so on. You'd control one or more heroes and the game was intended to be pretty free form. The game design hinged on some advanced skeletal modeling technology that Bullfrog was touting for The Indestructibles and other games, like Gene Wars. Essentially, this technology would deliver deformable objects that would obey the internal laws of physics programmed into the game and allow objects to be deformed and rendered on the fly.

For The Indestructibles it meant that players would be able to design their own heroes and affect the terrain in creative ways. Unfortunately, Bullfrog couldn't pull the technology out of their magic hat, and the games we did see, such as Gene Wars, ended up being disappointing and derivative instead of innovative.
The game went through a wild roller coaster while at Bullfrog. First it was going, then it was killed, then it was back on again, then it was killed. The gist is that the game couldn't reach a cohesive direction and was ultimately killed."
