The Aether is one of the oldest mods in the game, and one of the most infamous. Adding a new dimension shown to be the opposite of the nether including their own wood, mobs, tools and 3 bosses, Valkyrie queen, The Sun God and the slider, defeating these gives chest that can give various OP loot from extra hearts, regeneration stone and capes which even include an invisibility cloak. And once you're done with the Aether you can simply jump off the islands with a gold parachute to safely get into the overworld.
