2The main message of "The" game: The Last of Us 2 is primarily concernd with revenge, hatred and how violence breeds more violence. It also highlights how it is unwise to see the world as a good and evil binary because reality is far more complex than that. So the message of this game is Ellie and Abby are both wrong. They both do horrible things for revenge, but revenge only leads to more violence. No one of the two characters is right, they both lose a lot because of seeking and striving for revenge. (personally Joel's death clouded my judgement, because of the sympathy I had for him. I saw Ellie like a hero seeking for justified-vengeance. After my second playthrough I've understood the main message. Violence causes violence, vengeance causes vengeance, and that the cycle can only end if you look past your own anger. My cousin told me that I didn't understood the meaning/message of the game. And he was right.)
