Here's a better Episode 8 idea from two guys who don't make movies professionally. That's the problem with The Last Jedi, any Star Wars fan could write a better story. Rian Johnson took everything that George Lucas and JJ Abrams had done and took it absolutely nowhere. Wanted to see Rey get trained and understand why Kylo Ren went insane. Too bad. Want to see Luke Skywalker pass on the knowledge that he has spent the last 30 years obtaining? Too bad because he doesn't want it anymore because bleh fuck the Jedi.
