Joel & Ellie's journey through the Natural History & Science Museum continues. Once they are done with the dinosaurs it's onto the space travel part of the museum, and that is where Joel gives Ellie his true birthday gift. This was one of the most beautiful interactive movie style gaming segments I've ever played, and it really resonated with me. This game is unfortunately extremely dark and cynical, which is a creative decision I have no choice but to respect. But at the very least they showed us that if they want to, they can still create magic between characters we care about, moments that surpass anything I experienced in the 1st game. I do wish there was a little more of it though :)
Joel and Ellie, thrust together in a twist of fate, made their way across the country and overcame incredible struggles to reach safety. Ellie's immunity to the cordyceps infection meant that if she was scarified, she could be the saviour for makind. But the incredible bond they formed, and Joel's attachment to the young girl after the loss of his own daughter meant he made a decision so heavy, it changed the fate of the world. He lied to Ellie, and extinguished the flame of the Fireflies. Choices like that rarely ever don't come back to haunt you. Let's see what happened in the aftermath...
