This is a very extreme example of Museum skip purely for entertainment purposes and should not be attempted in runs. I'm pretty confident in the setup I showed Yoranto in terms of consistency. I can get it 8/10 times if focused on just getting the skip. It does seem that the game will sometimes just launch Joel slightly more left and that's always a failure.

This is possibly because the dumpster angle was off by 1 pixel or slight framerate fluctuations as Joel leaves the dumpster (almost impossible to know exactly). I even thought to myself that Joel moves even when holding the dumpster so if you looked at his hands, there was maybe a visual cue of when to press triangle to help get angles even more consistent. Nothing really seemed concrete with that though.

This version goes against the mantra of this whole game (unpausing during a load is always bad) but in this instance it's required. The quick pause and unpause is to give the game time to deload the top wall infront of us so we can make it on the roof.

As long as you unpause on the roof (even if you hear Ellie die) the checkpoint is always active and will counter any death that the quick pausing and unpausing creates.

This version I can't recommend at all. In terms of consistency it's basically non existent. It's generally easy to find just one thing with the dumpster: height or angle. You can't really have both. It only saves about 14 seconds over the much more consistent way I found before anyway.

Quick tip if you don't know how to get behind the dumpster. After lining it up and letting go, press square to bring out a melee weapon. Now basically at the same time press sprint, up right on the left stick and triangle. The timing can be a little diffcult at first.
