The Last of Us is an apocalyptic survival game from developer Naughty Dog (Uncharted, Jak and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot). The game was officially revealed at Spike TV's Video Game Awards on December 10, 2011, though it had been teased and hinted at prior. The Last of Us: Remastered, a graphically updated version of The Last of Us for PS4, was announced on April 9, 2014. In 2022, a PlayStation 5 remake of the game was released titled The Last of Us: Part I.
The Last of Us is set in a post-apocalyptic urban environment after a plague ravaged the globe, creating the Infected. Nearly feral hunters kill each other for food, weapons, or whatever they can get their hands on. The game follows Joel, a hardened survivor, and Ellie, a teenage girl, in their journey across post-apocalyptic America.
The game's score is being done by Oscar award-winner, Gustavo Santaolalla. He is best known for winning back-to-back Oscar awards for Best Score as a result of his work on the films Brokeback Mountain and Babel in 2005 and 2006 respectively.
