In this video, I discuss the news surrounding Naughty Dog and their The Last of us Remake on the latest PS5 generation hardware. It's no secret that The Last of Us is one of Sony's most beloved franchises and with it, Jason Scheirer reports that Naughty Dog is working on a high potential Remake of the game. It's unclear whether the gameplay and graphics will be overhauled, but it begs the question as to WHY. Also, Sony Bend (aka, Bend Studio) worked on Days Gone. Many of the leads on that team pitched a Days Gone 2 idea, but that was turned down, and Sony had the studio help Naughty Dog work on its next Multiplayer Game, presumably The Last of Us Factions. Sony Bend was also asked to help make an Uncharted game, but it's unclear if an Uncharted game, and a The Last of Us Remake will still be continued, especially with the large fan reactions. In my opinion, a Days Gone 2 sequel should have been considered, especially with how well the first game sold. It's no wonder leads like Jeff Ross and John Garvin decided to part ways from the 1st Party PlayStation studio, but it's unclear if that's the sole reason for their absence from the studio. Regardless, I'm extremely upset about the way Sony treated Bend Studio in the process, a studio that wanted to be independent from the likes of YET ANOTHER Uncharted game, by situating themselves as a studio that can make GREAT new IPs. Whatever the case, one thing's clear -- and that is Sony's reluctance to TRUST their developers in making new and engaging IPs. I guess we'll have to see what comes of all of this, that being The Last of Us Remake, Days Gone 2 (which I hope happens), and an Uncharted game -- plus a standalone The Last of Us Factions Multiplayer game which I have every reason to believe is being worked on at the moment over @ Naughty Dog.
