0The Last of Us Part II is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is the sequel to the 2013 game The Last of Us, and follows protagonists Ellie and Joel as they travel across America during the outbreak of a virulent pandemic.
The Last of Us Part II is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. The player controls 19-year-old Ellie, who must traverse post-apocalyptic America in order to find a cure for a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus. In the game, the player uses firearms, improvised weapons, and stealth to defend against hostile humans and cannibalistic creatures infected by the fungus. The player can also use listening mode, which highlights enemies and environmental noise. The game features an open world for the first time in the series, although the game is still linear. The game will also feature a new gameplay mechanic called "infected vision", which allows the player to see enemies through walls.
