*Warning! - I may rant on about the story in the description so be aware there might be spoilers there if you read through it.*

The Last Promise was created by Blazer and is a hack for Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. This hack is a full length adventure filled with danger, some new items & classes as well as music, and a very well balanced difficulty curve.

You can head to the following site to keep up with the latest news regarding the hack and download the latest version of it:

ROM should be easy enough to find on your own.

In this chapter, the trio visit a blacksmith who happens to have been payed a visit by another group of bandits. Their leader happens to run into a person who seems like he gives no care that this particular bandit boss wants to teach him a lesson...and gives the boss a couple nasty cuts as a result. The bandit boss retreats to his throne and, after a young cleric by the name of Tamiko joins up, the battle starts.

This map can be a little tricky because of the sheer number of bandits around as well as some archers. You'll need to utilize those forests as much as possible to whittle down the enemy force while taking minimal damage.

As for our cleric, she is going to need to get the hell away from the action. She does not have ample dodging capabilities and defense to sit in a forest and hope the enemies don't get lucky shots in to kill her. Having her go east and wait it out there should be ok and keep her out of danger until it's safe for her to go in and heal characters.

Another thing to note here is our wayward swordsman, Kelik. He's an NPC for this battle, but will happily slaughter bandits. He can certainly handle himself if given the chance, but you don't want him taking too much exp that could be better used for your team. Have Sieg rescue him ASAP. The speed penalty he takes is actually a good thing because now he shouldn't be able to double anything on the map, meaning Shon & Corben can pick up the kills for some easy experience.

Two things to note here...the village you can visit has a Javelin while the house in the southwest most part of the map gives an item based on who visits it. You want Corben to check it out as you get a very nice weapon, the Emblem Spear. It has infinite uses and gets bonus damage (double the weapon's Mt stat I believe) against EVERYTHING. This is also needed for a sidequest much farther down the road.

Now, for the boss. He's not that much of an issue, but he does have Elixirs he will use at low HP so you will need a couple good hitters here to take him out when he gets to 50% so he doesn't heal that damage right up.

However, this is where I abuse the fact that he doesn't move from his throne and give that Emblem Spear to Sieg and place him next to the boss. Thanks to the weapon triangle advantage, the boss should have a hit rate against Sieg in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Have Tamiko heal him up after every hit until you get her to a level you're satisfied with (Staves give much more exp per use compared to vanilla, making it a much easier job to level clerics as a result).

Once that happens, bean the boss and have Sieg seize the throne.

Afterwards, Sieg picks up a new weapon for himself, Nothung. This has limited uses, but is very very effective against magic slinging classes. You won't be seeing mages for a few chapters though.
