*Warning! - Heavy spoilers ahead! You have been warned.*

The Last Promise was created by Blazer and is a hack for Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. This hack is a full length adventure filled with danger, some new items & classes as well as music, and a very well balanced difficulty curve.

You can head to the following site to keep up with the latest news regarding the hack and download the latest version of it:

ROM should be easy enough to find on your own.

No need to prepare besides my off screen shuffling of things to prepare my team of 8 I'll be taking with me to the Eighth Star and a chat with Jake.

This time, Jake has a Leviathan spear for you. Very heavy (16 wt), but boosts the user's speed by 5 when equipped and is quite powerful. Rex could very well find a use for this since with that Ether Sphere he got, he gets a net profit of 4 AS while using Leviathan. Not that Rex really needs it to double lots of things right now, heh.

Anyways, Eighth Star. My team for this one is Anakin, Althares, Zach, Apollo, Rana, Mark, Tekun, and Rex. Being past this map now, I realize that someone like Itsuke with a bunch of siege tomes would have been better used in Tekun's place considering a task I have to perform here.

Preparations wise, make sure someone has the Member's Card on them, preferably a spellcaster with a high magic stat & filled up with siege tomes. Everyone else should have at least one brave type weapon (Hero's Flare for you nature spamming mages out there) plus a couple other strong weapons with plenty of backups in Liuke's storage.

The Eighth Star is going to take a long while to complete despite the small size of it. All of the normal enemies on this map are lv20 promoted at least with the stats & weaponry to back that up.

As for named enemies? Only two, but they are familiar villains from the main game, Fenix & Lahar.

Fenix's stats are unchanged from the main game, but he's traded away his Nirvana for a Brave Sword & Lancereaver. The Brave Sword is scary, but not half as scary as Lahar.

Lahar is basically the boss from chapter 23xx of the main game, but far far more scary. Three capped stats, three that are nearly capped, and 78 HP are just the beginning. He's also using a new S-rank dark tome, Irkala. This doesn't do instant kills like it previously did, but it's only slightly weaker than Valenst, quite accurate (95 hit), and only has a weight of 12, meaning Lahar takes only a 2 AS penalty from using it. Make sure whomever engages him uses a Holy Water/has Barrier cast on him or her and/or uses Sylmeria (spear users only, +5 res).

If that wasn't bad enough, the gimmick of this star...everytime an enemy falls, be it on your attack phase or the enemy's side, a new one pops up immediately to take its place. Most of the time they will appear in the southeast, but sometimes they will simply take the place of the enemy you just killed. This goes on for a LONG time. Better have plenty of weapons for a long fight here.

First turn can be tricky. There are several swordmasters in your vicinity that need to die that turn. Given they have high speed, it's best to break out brave weaponry on them so you can kill each one with two of your characters at least...unless you get crits that is.

The other danger is the western half of the map. This is where the main enemy force will be going to and you need two good tanks to plug up the gap there. My maxed out Liuke is a surprisingly good choice for one of those slots. Very dodgy, lots of defenses & HP. He's good if one of your other tanks is forced to back out for some reason.

Bonus points for tanking purposes if one of them gets the Angelic Wing which, as I only noticed after recording this map, also adds +1 to a character's movement on top of the stat cap & max level boosts. Like Captain Rex needed more move, heh.

Apollo's main job is to nuke a Druid in the south with siege tomes. He drops a Warp staff upon his demise. The walled off area in the south houses a secret shop on the carpet with three very nice items for purchasing. Craze is nice, Hammerne is even better, but the real reward is buyable Angelic Wings. Very expensive at 55555 gold a piece, but it is so worth it. There's a free one in the lone chest on this map guarded by a Sage (Watch out for his Thunderbolt tome) as well. Considering how long this map will be going for and the experience well that it is as a result, grab a few when you get a chance to send someone over there (And, if you have Savior staves, bring him or her back to help out with the horde if needed).

The Warp staff can also be utilized to send someone into Lahar's face if you really want to, but if you do that early, it's best to get Fenix out of the way first. Have a Savior staff available too incase too many enemies run to the throne so you can get your attacker out of there quickly.

Not a whole lot else happens in this video. Second half next time!
