4To get to tthe Deku Shield, you must buy it from Kokiri Shop for 40 Rupees. The 2 tall patches of grass have 2 rupees each. If you properly jump across the two platforms, you'll get five rupees each. In one lof the houses are chests containing rupees. Behind a house if 5 rupees.
That should give you enough rupees to buy the Deku Shield. Before you go in the shop, a girl above it will want to take to you by pressing Z and then A. This is a useful technique for talking to distant people.
Once you have the Kokiri Sword & a Deku Shield. You qualify to see the Great Deku Tree.
