Another big surprise at Gamescom was the reveal trailer for the long-delayed sequel to Lords of the Fallen.

No longer known as "Lords of the Fallen 2" - the followup is titled "The Lords of the Fallen", which the creative director has called a "spiritual sequel". It is coming to PC, PS5 & Xbox Series X/S. Lord of the Fallen 2 was announced back in 2014 with a planned release date of 2017. CI Games were handling development along with Defiant Studios. Defiant Studios were dropped in April 2020, and CI Games announced that new studio Hexworks were now working on the sequel.

Gamescom CG trailer was narrated by Joseph Quinn (Eddie from Stranger Things S4) and set to Danzig's "Mother". World will be 5 times larger than the first game and will have co-op (first game was single-player only) Set 1000 years after the events of the original, and a gameplay reveal is planned for later this year.
