"The Man from U.N.C.L.E." (2015) directed by Guy Ritchie is a unique and genuinely incredible film. In my opinion it offers the best of the best in more than one genres and should be used as a benchmark and textbook example for future projects on how to do things the right way.

Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) is a renowned thief who has been arrested and blackmailed into being an agent for the C.I.A. He reluctantly teams up with a KGB agent named Illya (Armie Hammer) whom he had an extended fight with at the start of the film. Their mission is to safely escort a VIP named Gaby (Alicia Vikander) who's father is missing and has been forced into creating nuclear weapons. After they successfully recover the missing scientist, his data, and all atomic level weapons, they must turn on each other in light of the arms race so that their respective nations can be in control of the world's ultimate power.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. really impressed my family and I. It was pretty disappointing to find out there is no sequel to this yet. The reason the film is particularly amazing is due to it's style of humor and unique approach to filmmaking as a whole. My favorite scenes were the extended dry humor moments where Solo is too busy eating his sandwich to help his partner driving circles in an enclosed water space, and also when the torturer's malfunctioning device turns on while Solo & Illlya are deciding what they should do with him with their backs turned.

The cast are beyond perfect in this film and their chemistry is off the charts with each other. The action spy stuff is great and all but it really is the laughter and comedy which holds this one up so high for me. I appreciated that the jokes were somewhat few and far but all extremely impactful and effective. I don't have any big gripes with this one but I would argue the action is not on the same level as other films which also feature comedy such as "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" (2018).

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is a must watch if you like James Bond and spy films in general. The unique parts of this one is it's unique filming style, reluctant buddy cop situationship, and the humor.
