The Matrix (1999): VFX Discussion
2Upon its release in 1999...The Matrix blew people's minds. The ideas -- and the effects work -- were groundbreaking, and its influences can be easily traced to the biggest movies of today. The movie would go on to win the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects that year, and ESC (Escape) would be formed by Warner Brothers to continue work on the back-to-back filmed and released second and third installments released in 2003.
Journey back to 1999 with Nick and John as they enter the Matrix, ride the nostalgia train, and break down the effects -- and begin their journey through the original Matrix trilogy, in anticipation of the (as of this writing) upcoming Matrix: Resurrections release in December 2021.
