And there's more. Remember Mei Mei, the hilarious female panda from Kung Fu Panda who fights using nunchucks? In Minions 2, there's a female warrior nun who fights using nunchucks too. She’s literally called "Nun-chucks." Get it? The leader of the Furious Five is the Dragon Warrior, and at the end of Minions 2, the leader may not be the Dragon Warrior, but she literally turns into a dragon, and other members turn into a monkey and a tiger, both animals from the Furious Five. Lastly, Po fights as a giant dragon in the spirit realm, while in Minions, they fight against a giant dragon. It’s like they took the good characters from Kung Fu Panda, flipped them, and gave them to the Minions. Pretty obvious now, right? So, it looks like Illumination borrowed heavily from Kung Fu Panda for their Minions movie.
