"The Monster, Not the Human" Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin Hard Level 1, Boss 11 (No Damage)
And hello to another part of the bosses series. This is where we torment bosses with our evergrowing skills, and make them develop issues. Did you know that? Well, here's the works on this guy!
The Creature
Time Taken to No Damage: 40 minutes
This is my 2nd most hated boss, below Death of course. I never really understood his electricity, but since I battled him, I got to understand his attack more. So without further ado, let's pin this beast down.
Rocket Launcher: Franken makes a sound, and launches a singular rocket. Without good enough health upgrades, you'll be instantly killed. If you're up high, get to the ground, and if you're low, go to the air.
Spells like Darkness Hole or Clear Field can destroy the rockets.
Bullet Spray: Franken opens it arm, and launches a spray of bullets at its current direction. These bullets can be destroyed, so you can use the dangle whip, or a spell to destroy them.
Grab: Franken punches low, and tries to grab you. This is a proximity attack, so you won't really be caught unless you're up in its space. But if you see it, backdash away, or run.
Electric Blast: The last of the attacks. Franken raises both arms and shoots electricity from them. What you do? It depends on your previous location. If you were airborn, then the bolts will arc upward, leaving space between? Are you close to it? Then the bolt will have less range. The bolt lingers for a good bit, so you'll have to wait a good amount of time before coming back.
It's a knowledge check boss to say the least. And it does say "Knowledge here" in fact. I looked at the lines.
Forgotten City Bonus: If you went to get Griffon Wing in Forgotten City, then you can just stay in the air while the bullets or rockets are out.
Strategy
Jonathan
Vampire Killer (Powered), Offense Form
Yes, this is a Jonathan only strategy. A surprise as it may come, as the girl has had her single battles. The main weapon used here is a whip. With Whip Skills, you can dangle the whip and attack downward, although we onlu used the dangle part. It was mostly reacting to his attacks, and getting up and personal with Offense Form.
