The Most Beautiful Fighting Game in 2004
Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate is the most distinct as well as the best-looking version of Dead or Alive 2. It's a 2004 remake of the 1999 game. DOA2 Ultimate's attributes are a mix of the multiple versions of the original DOA2 with Dead or Alive 3's 3D movement, updated graphics engine, new modes, and Hitomi. This was the ultimate manifestation of the power from the original Xbox because the original Xbox was more powerful than the most powerful PC at that time. Itagaki was always attracted to the most powerful hardware and he always dedicated himself to it. Look at that, "ray traced" reflections in 2004...
As much as fans love this game, the graphics is the only thing I could compliment about because Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate's game play is really not my kind. It doesn't have the new moves and hit properties from Dead or Alive 3, which kinda sucked. Sometimes I wish DOA2 Ultimate was the game made from 2001 so DOA3 would have DOA2 Ultimate's current graphics, which would make the best Dead or Alive game of all time because DOA2 Ultimate just looks so much better than DOA3, even though DOA3 looked really good for a 2001 game. But DOA3 has the better game play besides the infinite air combos and wall stuns and DOA2's game play feels mushy. When you hit somebody in DOA2, it doesn't feel satisfying with that powerful impact like it would in the newer games. It feels like hitting a giant stuffed toy...
