The Pale Blue Eye Behind the Scenes
Christian Bale, Harry Milling and Scott Cooper have teamed up to bring a fresh perspective on Edgar Allen Poe to Netflix. Set in Poe’s youth, the film explores a scandal at a private military academy that leaves everyone scratching their heads. Is it a classic Who Dun’ It? Or something much darker… We take a closer look at The Pale Blue Eye and get the inside scoop of what it was like to work with these notable actors, and their thoughts about Edgar Allen Poe himself. The film was based on a novel of the same name in 2003, written by Louis Bayard. He wrote a fictional story of Edgar Allen Poe’s formative years in his adolescence before he became a writer. The film is also a celebration of Edgar Allen Poe and his success as a writer. The film was shot primarily in Pennsylvania, with some pretty cool locations, including some buildings that were built in the early 1800’s. There are plenty of easter eggs for the serious Poe fan, but even if you’ve never heard of him, you can still enjoy this beautifully shot mystery thriller.
