We owe a great deal of thanks to Hazelight Studios for launching their latest co-op adventure on Friday, because our Headlines & Hot Takes are certainly lacking a bit of oomph this week. However, we did still find some cool-looking indie games that were announced at both the Future Games Show and the id@Xbox showcases. And, Razer are making a silly facemask, and that allowed us to talk about Bane for a bit, so that was nice.
But, yes, this week's podcast is most definitely dominated by Show and Tell. Firstly, Colm played through It Takes Two, and spoke to Matthew about the incredible creativity in the game. So, you can check out some lovely It Takes Two gameplay, while Colm gives you an It Takes Two review (Matthew’s played about 4 hours of it, too, so you’ll hear his thoughts on the first third of the game). Colm’s also got some thoughts on Crash Bandicoot 4, so you’ll get to hear his Crash Bandicoot 4 PC review, too, while looking at some very colourful Crash Bandicoot 4 gameplay. Menwhile, Matthew's been enjoying the stylish and substantive Narita Boy, which you’ll get to hear about in his Narita Boy review. And, thankfully – because it really is a pretty one – you’ll get to see some Narita Boy gameplay. And, finally, Matthew tells Colm about the oddity that is Balan Wonderworld. As you’ll hear in Matthew’s Balan Wonderworld review and see in his Balan Wonderworld gameplay, it’s actually far more mediocre than most are giving it credit for.
Shhhh... this week's Mystery Steam Reviews focuses on video games that feature silent protagonists. And we round out the show by opening The Weekspot mailbag to answer your Burning Questions on games that we keep restarting and underserved genres.
