The PROPER Steps to Cloning and Replacing your M.2 NVME SSD Hard Drive! See Pinned Comment!
4,129Hey Guys! I am back with another tutorial and TODAY, we are talking ALL THINGS M.2 NVME SSD's. From cloning, replacing, installing, enclosures, extending / moving partitions, to everything in between! If you have ANY questions or concerns, comment down below. Here is what you are going to need:
NOTE: You are going to want to make sure that BITLOCKER is DISABLED before performing this procedure. If it is ENABLED before the clone, you might have an issue with extending the partitions later on. So make sure BITLOCKER is DISABLED. You can disable it by going into Privacy and Security - Device Encryption - Set it to OFF.
Remember, DO NOT erase or do anything with your original drive until you are FULLY DONE WITH THIS PROCEDURE. That way, if you do run into an issue, you can stick your old drive back in and try again.

If you don't have an open M.2 NVME slot on your motherboard to clone to, you will need an M.2 NVME SSD Enclosure ( Highly recommend one even if you do, so you can use an M.2 drive as an external drive ):
