The psychadelic mythology of Charles' Glaubitz's Starseeds!
This book is pretty out there.
I feel like I get the story... but it's hard to put it into words.
You've got elder gods in secret places outside existence, dream repetition, existential battles, lizards, ancient powers, creation myths, the Illuminati, space people, nature elements, animal hybrids meeting their future incarnations... it's a big pot of bizareness.
But I dug it. I've got a few other books that fit into a similar style of storytelling.
The art is unique. It feels ugly and unrefined at times, but it totally isn't. It feels like an intentional artistic choice and is still quite nicely drafted.
The ending was a bit of a letdown. It builds up to a big crescendo as the multiple story bits all start to converge, some big things happen, it all starts to make sense... and that's the end.
Plus there's a weird bit where we get into all the sins of man in these big double page spreads that are pretty wild (and I didn't want to spoil).
Thankfully the follow up volume is out there and I already went ahead and ordered it. I'm genuinely curious as to how it all piece together and wraps itself up.
It looks damn cool too.
